Who We Are
Ronald McDonald House Charities is an international non-profit network that keeps families with sick children close to each other and to the care and resources they need. RMHC has local Chapters in more than 64 countries and regions around the world, which serve more than 3.6 million children and families every year.
RMHC (Malta) is a registered charity (VO 778) which was set up in 2012 with the aim of “creating, funding and supporting programmes that directly improve the health and well-being of children”. In June 2019 it opened a Learning Centre in Qawra to support children and their families facing challenges, learning difficulties or poverty. Working together with partners, the RMHC Learning Centre will offer children the specialised help they need to continue their education and enrich their lives.
Globally, RMHC promises to “Keep Families Close”. RMHC delivers on this promise in Malta by ensuring that support provided to children also benefits their families and guardians by extension. This is why the centre’s facilities and resources are made available to other voluntary organisations, even the smallest, so that they can provide their own services in the area. RMHC (Malta) seeks to build a community within a community so that the investment in this project realises tangible outcomes through a portfolio of diversified services. We intend to work very closely with as many people as we can from the local community, including schools.
